This is an early-semester assignment I use to provide a way students can document their learning throughout our class, using both text and hyperlinks.
last updated 22 August 2024
Goals
Document your learning in class each day with text and hyperlinks.
Create a "filing cabinet" of work for your digital portfolio
Encourage reflection and curation of created media products
Steps
INSIDE that folder, CREATE a new Google DocÂ
Share the document with Dr. Fryer (wes.fryer@providenceday.org) with COMMENT access
Create the following elements in the Google Doc:
Document Title: "Learning Journal - YOUR NAME - Class Name - Fall 2024"
Centered TITLE formatted text at the top: (same as above)
Left aligned HEADING 1 formatted entry: Today's date
Numbered list: Share at least 1 of today's Wonder Links, share what our main assignments are today, include at least 2 links.
Turn In
Share the DIRECT LINK to your Learning Journal Google Doc here in Canvas.
Refer to the annotated screenshot below for tips on how your Google Doc should be shared!
Teacher Notes
After students complete this assignment, I change SHARE rights for this folder from ANYONE IN OUR ORGANIZATION CAN EDIT to RESTRICTED (no access.)
Since students have DIRECTLY shared COMMENT access to their document with me, I can still view / access all documents from this folder or using the submitted direct links, but students cannot access each other's files or view them.
