Student-LED Conference (SLC) ReflectionS

Each semester, my middle school students prepare for student-led conferences by reviewing what they have actually learned in my classes. To help them, I build a Student Skills slide deck for each course I teach ( currently in fall 2026: Computer Applications, Web Design, Computer Programming and Broadcast Media). Every skill on it is tied to a published assignment, page or discussion students have already completed, not to drafts I might still change. Students pick three skills from their class’s slide and use them in a one-page reflection form to talk about their growth with a parent or guardian. I built the Fall 2026 midterm versions with help from Claude, which reviewed my Canvas course exports and compared them with last spring’s lists. I checked the results against what I actually taught.
